Fern Bearnice Ewing

Fern Bearnice Ewing, 92, of Church Hill, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25th, 2024.

Born in Virginia, Fern left school early to help raise her siblings. She married her childhood sweetheart, Ellis Ewing, and they enjoyed over 68 years of happy marriage until his passing in 2013. Fern had a warm and friendly nature, never meeting a stranger. Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was known for sharing her love for the Lord and being a dedicated prayer warrior.

Fern cherished her grandchildren and took great pride in spoiling them. She was a wonderful cook and loved hosting family dinners. Having lived her entire life in the area, she especially enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays. Fern was known for her caring and loving spirit, always seeing the best in everyone. She also had a fondness for driving fast.

Fern is predeceased by her husband, Ellis Ewing; son, Tim Ewing; siblings, Johnny Collins, Arthur Collins, Grace Hoskins, and Evelyn Vest; father, Logan Collins Sr.; and mother, Myrtle Jones; and step-mother, Florence Collins.

She is survived by her son, Terry Ewing; daughter, Pauletta Hite and husband Tom; grandchildren, Brandon Powell, Aaron Ewing and his wife Tabitha, Jonathan Ewing, Lauren Quillen and her husband Michael, and Katie Moles and her husband Holden; great-grandchildren, Hayden Powell, Damien Ewing, Madison Powell, Liam Quillen, Baby Boy Quillen (due in July) ; brothers, Junior Collins and Ted Collins; and special daughter-in-law, Janice Ewing.

A graveside service will be held at McPheeter's Bend Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, June 2nd, at 2:00 pm.
