Evelyn Jean Bellamy

July 30, 1943 — November 29, 2015

Evelyn Jean Bellamy, 72, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 29, 2015. Jean was born in Etowah, NC and she lived in Colonial Heights, TN throughout her life. She selflessly dedicated her life to nursing and the care of her patients. Jean believed it was her calling. She worked for over 30 years at NHC and Remington House. One of the greatest passions in her life were her grandchildren (Daniel Wallen, Amber Hankins Foland, Ashley Hankins) and great grandchildren (Jacoby Hockenberry, Brooklynn Foland, Paislee Russell). She was preceded by her parents, Arlie and Nona Gonce; brothers, Vance Gonce, Ray Gonce, and Elmer Gonce. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Richard Bellamy; daughters, Tracy Bellamy Hankins and Diane Wallen; sisters, Mildred Davis and Betty Anne Joyner; brothers, Harvey Gonce, Edward Gonce, Charles Gonce, and Wayne Gonce; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and the many special friends throughout her life. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 5 to 7pm on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Trinity Memorial Centers FUneral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Mike Anglin officiating. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Wellmont Hospice W3 staff and Holston Valley Hospital staff for their excellent care.
