Ethel Janice Gammon

On February 21, 2023, Ethel Janice Blevins Gammon went home to be with her heavenly family after a brief illness. She was 86 years old. Born on November 8, 1936, to the late Leonard and Helen Blevins. She was a Kingsport native and lifelong resident. Janice worked for many years at The Kingsport Press in publishing. She will be remembered as a loving, devoted, and cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Janice's greatest love was her children, and she always provided support and love for her family.
Janice was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Cecil Fred Gammon, and her brothers Lionel Blevins and Larry Blevins.
She is survived by her sisters, Patsy Ann Jones of Utah, Judy Lynn Beatty of Kingsport; brothers, R.L. Blevins, Jr. and wife Judy of Kingsport, and Tom Blevins and wife Janet of Kingsport; her four children Jeffery Todd Gammon, Gregory Alan Gammon, Brenda Gammon Roberts, Jennifer Dianne Dotson; close friend Theresa Laws; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, February 24, at 3:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN 37664. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 2:45 p.m. Friday.
