Ellen Jane Bowen

Ellen Jane was born Jan 8, 1936 to Hobart Mckinnley and Cora Mae Vermillion Quillen. She made her final journey to her Heavenly home on the wings of God's best angel he sent for momma on May 6th, 2020 at age 84. Ellen Jane was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and sisters; her daughter, Rhonda Sue Bowen Shaffer; and her son in law, Stewart (Bo) Williams. She is survived by her sister, Mary Katherine Quillen Williams ( Clinton TN); daughter, Debra Jane Bowen Williams ( Gate city va ); grand children, Christopher Bryant Williams and husband Michael Mangiapane (Capital Heights, MD), Alexander Shaffer, and Sarah Jane Shaffer (Greenville, TN); and by several nieces and nephews. Ellen Jane was a resident at Wexford House, the last 4 years of her life there she could be found roaming the halls as the resident speed demon in her wheelchair always with her chewing gum making new friends. Our heartfelt thanks to the administration and staff at Wexford for making her last year's the best. Also to Amedysis Hospice Care for her end of life care, and to Trinity Funeral home for helping with her final arrangements. Ellen Jane loved cooking dinner for her family and eating at her favorite restaurants. It was her final wish that there be no formal services and to be cremated. She also wanted you, her family and friends, to either make your favorite meal or visit you favorite restaurant with your families in her honor.
