Edna Mae Burleson (Williams) "Meme", born on June 10, 1936, in Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, in Bristol, Tennessee.

Edna is lovingly remembered by her daughters Andrea Lee Wallace and Jessica Elizabeth Bailey; her son-in-law Michael Paul Wallace; her sister Barbara Rosetta Williams (Eleanor Troup); her grandchildren Charles Rodney Burleson III, Bianka Lee-Ann Masters (Timothy Masters), Joesi Alexandrea Cooperman (Joseph Cooperman), Joshua Wayne Bailey, Chloe Madison Wallace, Olivia Edan Nicolas (Rodrigo Nicolas), and Wesley Michael Bailey; and her great-grandchildren Hayden Skies Roller, Onyx Leo Cooperman, Alexander Wayne Bailey, and Aliyah Elizabeth Bailey. She also leaves behind her nieces Lisa Hamby Hickman, Angela Marie Moore, Amanda Nannette Moore Loveless, Teresa Grindstaff and Janie Grindstaff Haun; and her nephews Robert Allen Moore and Timmy Grindstaff.

She was preceded in death by her son Charles Rodney Burleson II; her parents Rachel Lee Williams and James Sanders Williams; her sisters Gladys Marie Moore, and Ella Louise Hamby; and brother Roscoe Charles Grindstaff, Jr.

Edna grew up in Johnson City but spent much of her life in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she worked in the real estate field. She had a kind heart and was cherished by all who knew her. Sandbridge Beach held a special place in her heart as she and her children spent nine wonderful years there creating lasting memories with dear friends who adored her. A lover of butterflies, flowers, and the works of Nicholas Sparks, Edna found joy in life’s simple yet beautiful moments.

She will be cremated at Trinity Memorial in Kingsport, Tennessee. 

Edna’s warmth and love touched the lives of many. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
