Edith Marie Salyer

Edith Marie Salyer, age 77, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Castlewood, Virginia, but she had been in this area most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith where she attended Riner Tabernacle. She loved being with her family and she enjoyed helping other people. She is preceded in death by her parents, Banner Skeen and Nellie Skeen; sister, Peggy Sue Skeen; and brother, Willis Gene Skeen. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Buford Salyer; daughters, Wanda Salyer, Carolyn Edwards, and Angela Lane and husband Neil, all of Kingsport, TN.; grandchildren, Christopher, Sasha, Brandy, Amber, Heather and Shaun; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Salyer, Betty Dockery and husband Howard, and Glenna Coomer; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home with services to follow with Rev. Wayne Gilliam and Rev. Jay Bradley officiating. Graveside will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
