Douglas M. Tygrett

Douglas M. Tygrett went to be with to be with our Lord on September 7, 2017. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 10 1/2 years. He received the Bronze Star with "V" device for heroism during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents Lora G. Tygrett (Paul), father Leonard H. Stanley Sr. ( Christine), sister Carol Vars, brother Sam Tygrett, Jerry Houchins and John O'Cain. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol; sisters, Alma West, Jane Ratliff, Lora Akers, Patricia Zamaria; brothers, Paul Tygrett, Scott Tygrett, Kenneth Houchins, Leonard Stanley, David Stanley, John Stanley; Aunts Betty Marion and Betty Mulligan; uncle, Lonnie Cody; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 1pm on Thursday September 14, 2017 at Ravenwood Baptist Church (3545 Raven Hill Rd, Columbia SC). The Funeral service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Bill Oswald officiating. Military graveside and committal service will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens (700 W Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170).
