Donnie Ray “Smiley” Eldridge, age 55, of Rose Hill, VA passed away on July 28th, 2018 and Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Rose Hill and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, farming, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Ona Lee Eldridge; sister, Kathleen Eldridge.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Stephanie Brooks Eldridge; daughter, Vanessa Eldridge Muse and husband “Jimmy” of Tazewell, TN; son, Donnie Jacob and wife Courtney Walker Eldridge of Ewing, VA; grandchildren, Paul Clifton Muse, Olivia Gail Muse, and Arabella Hope Eldridge; brother, Dick Eldridge and Diane Ayers of Ewing, VA, Bob Eldridge and wife Ella of Rose Hill, VA; sisters, Nancy Collins of Ewing, VA, Cindy Scott and husband Williard of Hancock County, TN; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday August 1st at Baker Cemetery (298 Crockett Ridge Road, Ewing, VA) with Reverend Robert Charles Long officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made towards the burial expenses to Trinity Memorial Centers (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN).
Family and friends will server as pallbearers.
