Donna Ann Mowdy

Donna Ann Mowdy, 67, of Kingsport, TN, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Donna was born in Kingsport, TN, in 1956. Her career began at Greystone Health Care, where she rose to the position of Dietary Manager. She furthered her education through Penn State University, studying to become a registered dietitian. Donna had a passion for cake decorating, which she enjoyed as a hobby.

Donna's family was her world. She adored and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her life. Known for her caring, kind, and loving nature, she was a nurturing presence to all who knew her. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Donna was deeply loved. Her spunky personality and honesty were hallmarks of her character. She had a special love for Halloween, known for hosting memorable Halloween and birthday parties. Donna lived life to the fullest and was beloved by many. She loved the Lord and had a servants heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Sue Bowery; her brothers, Beecher and Frank; her sisters, Bertha (and husband Monroe) and Mary; and her two sons, John and Randall.

Donna leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Gary; her daughters, Tonya Baines and her partner Jason, and Robin Wolfe and her husband Gary; her thirteen grandchildren, including Summer and Autumn Baines, whom she raised as her own children; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Gale Pullham; her sister-in-law, Janie Bowery; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will also be greatly missed by her best friend, Rosie.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 25th, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following, officiated by Pastor Travis Courtney.

The graveside service will take place at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Friday, July 26th, at 1:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Lynn Wolfe, Colton Wolfe, Jacob Baines, Lucas Baines, Charlie Baines, and Travis Myrick. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Wolfe, Bill Swafford, and Jason Couch.
