Donald Turner

Donald Eugene Turner Sr., 77, of Bristol, VA, went to be with The Lord on Monday, April 27, 2020. Don was born in Bishop, VA in 1942. Don met the love of his life Jan in St. Paul, VA in August of 56 and they were married December of 59. Shortly after they married Don joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served as a Tech Sergeant for 30 years. During that time he served as a aircraft electrician during the Vietnam War. He was a proud father, husband, grandfather and a great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Estelle Turner; father, Leo Turner; brother, Leo Clarence Turner; and his sister, Violet Carol Wright, his children, Donald E. Turner Jr. “Dink”, and Donna Renee Kenney; grandson, Corey Brent Funderburke. Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jan Turner of Bristol, VA; 3 grandchildren, Bradley Turner of Auburn, GA, Malisa Renee Kenney of Bristol, VA, and Wesley Turner of Kennesaw, GA; 2 sisters, Jenny Hampton of Erwin, TN, and Shirley Hileman; 7 great-grandchildren, Joseph Kenney, Kyra Kenney, Gracie Kenney, Jasmine Kenney, Dakota Kenney, Raegan Turner, and Wyatt Turner; along with several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcome to contact Jan or Malisa at this time for future arrangements. Flowers are to be sent to the Turner residence.
