Dominick Allan Doxtater, 20, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
Nicky was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Kingsport at the age of 4. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. After graduating, he worked in construction, which he enjoyed and was proud of his work, mainly because he got to work with his family. Music was his second love. His kid was his first. He was a kind and generous soul who drew everyone to him and he always knew how to make you smile. He loved to play basketball when he wasn’t working.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon Edith LaSure; and uncles, Michael James Sassin III, Chris Patrick, David Patrick, Josh Patrick, Kristopher Atkins and Eric Phillips
He is survived by his son, Princeton James Doxtater; mother, Christina Swecker; step-father, Jeffery Allen Swecker, step-dad, Steven Morelock; father, Roy Lee Phillips; brothers, Duane Doxtater, and Christopher Coleman Jr.; sisters, Ashley Taylor, Kayla Doxtater, Victorya Phillips and Krysten Atkins; step-brother, Blake Ericson; step-sisters, Jasmine Morelock and Chelsea Moore; grandparents, Maggie Johnson and Kenneth Atkins; nephew, Duane Taylor; aunts, Kandy and Trevor Brooks, Kyla and Kevin George, Kelly and Elijah Walsh and Brooke Cooper; uncles, Kenneth Atkins and Christina and Michael Adams; several cousins; and a lot of friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Shades of Grace on Sunday, February 25,2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor Will Shewey officiating. Graveside service will be held at noon on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Depew’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be JT Thomas, Steven Morelock, Roy Phillips, Kevin George, Jeff Brousseau, Christopher Coleman Jr., Ashley Taylor, Elijah Walsh, David Owens and Shannon Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Trevor Brooks.
