David "DJ" John Ambrose, 30, of Blountville, TN, passed away on April 29th, 2024. Born in La Palma, CA, David was a proud alumnus of Murrieta Valley High School and later earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from California State University, Fullerton. His family equally cherished his accomplishment of being the first to graduate college, a testament to his determination and dedication.
For the past two years, he had been employed as a procurement officer with T-DOT, where his likeable nature made him a beloved colleague.
David was known for his spontaneous, passionate, and vibrant personality. He had an infectious sense of humor and a genuine, conversational style that kept him connected with friends and family alike. His passion for music was evident as he played various instruments including the trumpet, banjo, and keyboard. Additionally, David was an avid aviation enthusiast who enjoyed spending time on flight simulators.
After a few months of meeting his future wife, Destiny, he phoned his step-mother and said it is inevitable I am marrying this woman. Above all, David took great pride in being a devoted husband, a milestone that he considered his greatest achievement.
David leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion, survived by his wife, Destiny; his mother, Kim Ambrose; his step-mother, Tonette Burbidge; and a loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his niece, Taylor Ambrose. He was predeceased by his father, Daniel Burbidge, and brother, Joshua Ambrose.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11th, at Church of Jesus, 809 W. Main St, Johnson City, TN 37604 from noon until 3:00pm.
