David Edward "Buddy" Kelley

David Edward Kelley Jr., "Buddy", 53, of Kingsport, Tennessee departed this life on July 2, 2018 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on September 1, 1964 to David E. Kelley Sr. and Brenda Wade Kelley (Simpson) of Big Stone Gap, VA. David, or "Buddy" as everyone knew him, was a mechanic by trade, and he loved racing and was hoping to return to racing soon. He was always fixing someone's car or helping them move or whatever he could do to help. He was loved by many and he always had a smile on his face. He loved to make people laugh. Buddy was sweet , funny caring and kindhearted. He was an avid cook and loved creating big meals for his family. He really loved his nieces and nephews. He always wanted to save a life if he could and in his final act of kindness he was able to save two lives. He was saved in 2010 and I know we will see him again one day. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Simpson, stepfather George Simpson and a son, Brandon Kelley. He is survived by a son, David E. Kelley III, father and stepmother David E. Kelley Sr and Judy Kelley, brother Kenny Kelley and wife Sandra, sisters Lisa Mullins, Vicky Ramey and husband Andy, Tammie Yates and husband Mark, stepbrother George Simpson, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation hours are Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Trinity Memorial Centers from 12-2 pm and Memorial Service will follow @ 2 pm with Rev. Matthew Clark officiating.
