David Adam Hayes, 67, of Blountville, Tennessee, peacefully entered eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 29th, 2024.
Born in Blountville in 1956, he proudly called this town his lifelong home. His unwavering faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of his life, and he centered every aspect of his existence around his deep relationship with his savior. David was a fervent Christian known for his dedication to testifying and being a living witness of Christ; he truly embodied the essence of a man of God.
Despite facing the challenges of dyslexia, David displayed remarkable determination by teaching himself to read the Bible. He became a dedicated evangelist, frequently embarking on journeys to reach out to the homeless in various cities, shining the light of God's love into their lives.
David had a profound love for connecting with people and ensuring their well-being. His skills as a carpenter were exceptional, and he generously passed on his knowledge to his son, imparting his woodworking expertise and teaching him the art of operating heavy machinery, including a backhoe.
He also played a significant role in shaping the faith of his beloved daughter, Shantell, instilling in her the power of prayer and the importance of carrying on his legacy of helping others and testifying about the Lord.
David was known for his resilience, boundless compassion, and capacity for forgiveness. A loving family man, he embraced his role passionately, ensuring his family felt cherished and secure.
His construction talents were highly regarded, and he dedicated himself to his father's construction business, operating the heavy equipment, until a seizure led to his disability. Throughout his life, David exemplified gentleness and kindness in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
David is reunited with his parents, Adam and Margaret Hayes.
He leaves behind a legacy cherished by his children, Jesse Hayes, Shantell Bogle and her husband Brandon; along with his adoring grandchildren, Amber Bogle and her husband Aaron Leonard, Hannah Ramey; and his great-grandchild, Sophia Leonard; his lifelong companion, Karen Pannell, who shared most of his life's journey; loving cousins, Homer and Frank Hayes; and his close friendships of Donald Kilgore and family, as well as Mike Herron; David's brother, Michael Anthony Hayes, also mourns his passing.
A visitation in his memory will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Evangel Family Worship Center located at 1928 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN. A memorial service will be conducted after the visitation, with Pastor Victor Alley and Pastor Charles Bogle officiating.
