Daniel "Dan" Wesley Ritter, aged 81, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, surrounded by his loving children. He was born in Welch, West Virginia. He later moved to Bristol, Virginia where he spent his life alongside his beloved wife, Katherine.
Dan dedicated many years of his life to Superior Motors, where he meticulously detailed cars until his well-earned retirement. Beyond his work, he found joy in a variety of pastimes, including shooting matches, fishing, dancing, and rodeo. He cherished spending time with his fellow members of the "Liars Club" at Bojangles, forging countless cherished memories.
Described by many as a kind and gentle soul, Daniel never knew a stranger. His family meant the world to him, he felt blessed to be able to spend time with his children and grandchildren. His humility and sweetness endeared him to all who knew him.
In addition to his many interests, Daniel had a passion for crafting homemade wine, showcasing his creativity and love for sharing life's pleasures. A true jokester at heart, he relished light-hearted moments and humorously "cutting up" with those around him.
Daniel was a faithful attendee of East Bristol Baptist Church until his illness, where he found warm fellowship with his men's group.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Katherine Louise (Tate); his parents, Bramblette and Faye Ritter; brothers, Dickie and Howard.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Cathy Newland and significant other Larry May of Bluff City, Tennessee, Becky Poore and husband Chad of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; son, Allen Ritter and significant other Beverly Glenn of Bristol, Tennessee; grandchildren, Stephanie Newland, Laura Blankenship and husband Lucas, Cameron Ritter and wife Katie, Chloe Ritter, Christopher Hobbs, Carrington Hobbs; great grandchildren, Caleb Miller, Jacob Miller, Jeremiah Blankenship, Elijah Blankenship, and Oaklynn Louise Ritter; brother, David Ritter; sisters, Lois Perrigan, and Patricia Cumbow.
