Daniel Glenn Spencer

Daniel Glenn Spencer, 74, of Piney Flats, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Dan was a lifelong resident of New York, most recently in Norwich, before moving to east Tennessee seven years ago. After completing high school, Dan joined the US Marine Corps and courageously served his country in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he married his beloved wife, Elizabeth, and the couple had three children, Wendi, Jodi, and Chester. Dan worked as a machinist in aerospace production, but he was a passionate fisherman. He also loved working on cars, and taught his children and grandchildren how to maintain their own vehicles.

Dan is preceded in death by both of his parents, Glenn Spencer and Helen Carpenter; brother, Wayne Lewis, and his son, Chester Spencer.

Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty years, Elizabeth Spencer; daughters, Wendi Jones and Jodi Chase; grandchildren, Elizabeth Laymon, William Miller; great-grandsons, Landon Laymon and Asheton Laymon; sister, Jackie Smith (Dan); several nieces and nephews; his beloved cat, Deedle.
