Dana Lee Carter

Dana Lee Carter, born on October 25, 1947 in Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He loved to fish, work outside, listening to music and sharing music with others. Mr. Carter loved his family and he always kept them safe. For 31 years, he was an employee of Silgan (formerly Cap Snap Seal) and he proudly served his country in Vietnam in the 984th Company 62nd Engineer Battalion. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary Newman Carter; daughter, Lindsay Ann Carter Buchanan; stepchildren, Holly Whipple, Terry Hughes (Robby) and Warren Hutchens (Heather); sisters, Linda England (Tony) and Jennifer Shoemaker (Alvin); and 10 grandchildren. Visitation, with a service to follow, will be held on Thursday, December 17th from 5-7 pm at Heritage First Church of God (470 Rock Springs Road Kingsport, TN 37663) with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating.
