Cynthia Mooney Dillard

July 18, 1974 — February 24, 2020

It is with a heavy heart that I must report Cindy Dillard, 45, a believer in Jesus Christ, a faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the eternal realm Monday, February 24th, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center after succumbing to complications from diabetes. Cindy was born on July 18th, 1974 in Sullivan County, Tennessee, the daughter of Charles Edward Mooney and the late Juanita Pauline Tate Mooney. Cindy graduated President of her senior class at Sullivan North High School in 1992, and worked in the Quest Medical Lab at Holston Valley for many years, later starting her own business selling craft supplies online. Cindy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, studying the bible and taking yearly trips to Ocean Isle Beach and camping with her family. She always gave selflessly of herself and could always be counted on. She will be sorely missed. Cindy was a caring and devoted mother to her son, Aaron, and her absence in his life will leave a huge void that can never be filled. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Chris Dillard, son of Darrell and Sheila Dillard of Church Hill; one son, Aaron Dillard; father, Charles Edward Mooney and wife, Cathy Slaughter Mooney; two brothers, Jonn Mooney and wife, Lisa Mooney and daughter, Laken Mooney, and Kevin Mooney and wife, Sherri Mooney and son, Anthony Mooney; two step brothers, Duffy Tate and Benjy Tate; step sister, Allison Dickenson; brother in law, Chase Dillard and wife, Jaclyn Dillard; although we can't mention them all, Cindy also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all who miss her desperately. The family asks in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to Autism Speaks (autismspeaks.org), or American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org). Celebration of life to be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church on Thursday, February the 27th. A brief service will begin at 7:00pm conducted by Rev. Marshall Steinle. "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 "May the road rise to meet you, may the sun shine warm on your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." An Irish Blessing Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
