Curtis Brian Woods

June 7, 1969 — February 18, 2024

Curtis Brian Woods, fondly known as Buck, aged 54, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
Buck lived a life reminiscent of a cowboy's tale. For over two decades, he was deeply entrenched in the livestock market, showing his skill in the art of cow poking. Prior to that, he braved the rugged terrain as a yuke truck worker in quarries. His love for horses was evident, often seen riding alongside family and friends, cherishing those moments on horseback.
A man of many passions, Buck had a rhythm to his life. Every Saturday evening, he'd don his dancing boots and hit the floor with his sister, embracing the joy of country music. He had a knack for humor, a true jokester who brought laughter wherever he went. Buck found immense joy in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Connor and Leah, and bonding with his son, Ethan, over their shared love for fishing. He was an enthusiast of racing and wrestling, holding wrestling icon Ric Flair as his hero. The Washington Redskins held a special place in his heart, as did anything related to Indian culture. Buck also enjoyed the thrill of card games, always ready for a friendly round.
Buck is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vernice and Glenn Shupe; paternal grandparents, Coy and Elsie Woods; uncles, Danny, Dave, Bruce, Gene, and Rob; aunts, Alene Snodgrass, Debbie Woods, and Trula Lee; and cousins, Wesley, Brad, and Jamey Woods.
He is survived by his parents, Curtis and Deborah Woods; son, Ethan Woods (Tara); sister, Christy Woods Thomas (Timothy, "Poncho"); grandchildren, Connor and Leah Woods; nephews, Christian Woods and Preston Thomas; niece, McKayla (Kayla) Thomas; his cherished friends, Timmy and Tommy Collins, who were like brothers to him; and his special cousin, Joshua Woods, whom he also considered a brother. Additionally, he leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 5-7pm at West View Church of Jesus Christ, with a memorial service to follow, officiated by Pastor Mike Mellons.
"I'm Ric Flair! The Stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' 'n' dealin', son of a gun! WOO!"
"To be the man, you gotta beat the man!"
Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
