Coy Ray Conkin, 60, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31st, 2018 with his family by his side. Coy was born in Kingsport and lived here his whole life. He was a kind soul who never met a stranger. He was an animal lover and enjoyed his horses. He was an avid fisherman. Coy worked at AFG for 30 years where he made many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Argeline Conkin; brother, Kyle Conkin; grandmother, Daisy Cole. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Conkin; daughter, Rachael and husband Nakia Hicks; son, Jason Conkin; grandson, Dylan Conkin; granddaughter, Haylee Hicks; brothers, Butch and wife Patti Conkin, Wayne and wife Kim Conkin; sisters, JoAnne and husband Rick Dishner, Wanda Willis; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Pauline Harper; father-in-law, Gene Greear; very special friend, Monty Gibson. Coy loved fishing so everyone is invited to his favorite fishing hole for a gathering to remember his life on Wednesday September 5th from 5pm to 7pm at Warriors Path State Park (Duck Island look for signs). Trinity will be serving food and will hold a balloon release after the meal. Bring your fishing poles and enjoy the evening with the family.
