Claude Raymond Cavin

June 28, 1940 — November 18, 2022

Claude Raymond Cavin, 82, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 18th, in the presence of his loving daughter and longtime caregiver, Rhonda Cavin Minnick.
Born in Sullivan County, Claude was the son of the late Lloyd R. Cavin and Edith Depew Housewright. He proudly served in the US Army, in Germany, from 1962-1965. After his military service, Claude worked at Eastman Kodak for seventeen years, then Goodwill Industries until early retirement.
In addition to his parents, Claude is preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Babb Cavin; stepmother, Connie Cavin; stepfather, Clint Housewright; sister, Linda Greer; friend and mother of his children, Brenda Cavin Browning; stepsons, Darrin Cavin and Eddie Bear; brother-in-law, Otis Presley; best friends, Paul, Wayne, and Ronald Cox; infant sister, Ruth; several aunts and uncles.
Surviving Claude are his daughter, Rhonda (Dwight) Minnick; sons, Tony (Patti) Cavin; Daniel (Julie) Cavin, stepsons, Doug Bear, Willie (Tonya) Bear; stepdaughter-in-law, Cathy Cavin; sisters, Terry Presley, Diane (Freddy) Bussell, Anzil (David) Rhoton, Charlene (Roy) Morelock; brothers, Wade Cavin, Shannon (Chama) Cavin, Reggie (Jonette) Cavin; granddaughters, Tosha (Keri) Melson, Kayla (James) Broadwater, Brittany (Cody) Newland, Caroline Cavin, Tiffany Cavin; grandsons, C.J. (Mattea) Minnick, Daniel Cavin, Jr., T.J. Cavin, Justin Cavin, Aunts Nancy Smallwood Trent; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 PM on Tuesday, November 22 at the Old Kingsport Presbyterian Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 3/265. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be C.J. Minnick, Daniel Cavin, Jr., T.J. Cavin, Cody Newland, James Broadwater, and Justin Cavin.
Special thanks to Avalon Hospice, Legacy Homecare, VA, Cathy Cavin, and Kayla Broadwater for all the love and care over these past few years.
Donations in Claude's honor can be made to Avalon Hospice or to the American Legion Kingsport.
