Christopher Wayne Smith

Christopher Wayne Smith, 38, of Bristol, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
Born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee, Chris was a graduate of Tennessee High School before joining the US Marine Corps. He served proudly in the Marines for thirteen years and ended his career as a Gunnery Staff Sergeant and also obtained a degree in psychology from United States Marine Corps University/American Military University. While serving our country as a Marine he received many accolades and medals of merit. Aside from a short period in California, Chris called Bristol home. He had a cherished daughter, Riley Smith, and a beloved service dog, Gunner. Chris was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish. He was also a service dog trainer.
Chris is preceded in death by his mom, Fanny Juanita "Dude" Smith; mother, Tina Jo Wilson; Grandma, Patsy Adcock; Papaw, James Edward "Ed" Smith
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Riley Rebeckah Williamson Smith; sisters, Jessica Ball, Kristina Sparger (Brad); brothers, Jimmy Ball (Laikin), Andy Smith, Bradley Watson; nephews, Jordan Ball, Elijah Ball special great-aunt, Dotty Anders; step-dad, Jon McGuire
The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221, Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN. A graveside interment with military honors is scheduled at Mountain Home National Cemetery, on July 7th, 2023 at 2pm.
