Christopher Bishop

Christopher "Chris" Bishop, 55, of Kingsport, TN, passed away surrounded by family and friends in his home, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, after a brief illness(cancer).
Chris was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee. He worked in construction, and remodeling, and volunteered with the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department for years. Chris was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking in his shop. He graduated in 1986 from Sullivan North High School. Chris was a member of Calvary Worship Center in Bloomingdale. He loved gospel music and played the bass guitar and the acoustic guitar.
Chris is preceded in death by; his mother, Francies Bishop; brother, Greg Bishop; and sister, Debbie Kelly.
He is survived by; his wife, Joy Bishop; son, Corey Bishop (fiance Tamantha); father, Chan Bishop; sister, Teresa Bogel; step-grandchildren, Zachary, Michael, Brandon, and Lilyana; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Worship Center on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm and services officiated by Pastor Larry Bledsoe to follow. Graveside interment will take place at East Lawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023 at 1 pm.
