Chester Wayne Hinegardner, 61, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on March 26, 2025. When he started getting sick, he made us all promise not to leave him at a hospital but bring him home to be surrounded by his wife, kids, and grand-babies until his last day.
He was a carpenter, and his favorite part of the job was installing drywall, also known as Sheetrock. He loved to go fishing with his granddaughter, Nevaeh, and spend time with his family. He loved to provide for his family and be there to lend a hand whenever he was needed, and sometimes when he wasn't, but he still wanted to help. He tried to teach his kids the type of work he did and was so proud to see what his daughter, Brittany, knew when she started to remodel her home but he had become too weak to help, but was so proud of how great of a job she did. He was proud of each of his kids for different things, but mainly for the people they had become. Whether it was his six kids or his seven stepchildren, he loved them all the same, and to him, they were all his babies; he never treated one any differently than the last.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Leo and Betty Jane Hinegardner; his sisters, Sandy and Bessie; and his brothers, Eddie and Sponge.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Betty Hinegardner of the home; and his children, Jeremy Hinegardner of Littlestown, PA, Daniel Edwards and wife Heather of Kingsport, TN, Ashley Williams of Weber City, VA, Brittany Hinegardner and husband Kevin of Johnson City, TN, Dustin Johnson of Kingsport, TN, Chester Hinegardner of Kingsport, TN, Lizzy Necessary of Greenville, TN, Lauren Hamilton of Arcadia, FL, William Hinegardner of Oklahoma, Joshua Hinegardner of Kingsport, TN, Ashley Cridlin and husband Tyler of Church Hill, TN, Daniel Dishner and wife Vanessa of Kingsport, TN, and Travis Dishner and wife Jordan of Kingsport, TN; his grandchildren; Makayla, Steve Allen, Isabella, Abigail, Nevaeh, Brayden, Kalea, Kiasha, Ava, Josiah, Bree, Alivia, Elijah, Jaxon, Tristian, Sciza, and Nickolai; and his brother, Brian Hinegardner of Elkridge, MD.
Wayne fought to stay alive for almost 3 years until his body got tired, and he went to his forever home with his family that has passed before him, also to prepare a place for his family when it's all of our time to go and reunite with him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 324 Light Road, Rogersville, TN 37857 on Saturday April 5, 2025, at 2 pm.
