Charles Lester York, 51, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 10, 2020 after battling a serious heart condition since returning from Desert Storm. He left us with this saying "It is a win-win situation, God will heal me. He will heal me here or He will heal me there. Either way, I am healed." Charles loved his country and proudly served 4 years in the Navy. He was a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm. Charles was also a member of the Flying Rifles Drill Team, which he was very proud of. He was a fine example of a man who loved the Lord and a true patriot. He was an avid rifleman. Charles was a family man and a member of Celebration Church in Blountville, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester York; his grandmother, Eloise York; and his step-dad, Richard Boshaw Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 23 years, Patricia York; his three beautiful chosen daughters, Tonya, Lisa York, and Tina Swafford; his father, Alvin York; his mother, Carol Boshaw; his brother, David York; his sister, Lisa Johnston; his grandchildren, Dawson York, Skyler Carter, and Lexi Frawley; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Visitation will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers on May 14th from 3pm-5pm and a service will follow at 5:30 pm. There will be a private internment at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Friday.
