Charles Glenn Farmer, age 60, of Church Hill, TN, departed this life in the arms of God for his Heavenly home on January 10, 2024. Glenn was a born again Christian and a beloved member of Calvary Lighthouse Baptist Church in Church Hill, Tennessee. Calvary Lighthouse was his family by love of his Savior Jesus and he will be waiting to rejoice with them as they enter Heaven.
He enjoyed watching races at the Kingsport Speedway with his family and friends on Friday nights after he retired from Domtar Corporation. His humor was with him on the day he was born. We knew this because his siblings would giggle at him as they looked into his cradle. Of course it had nothing to do with his little scrunchy face and cute little ears. His family will miss his light so much, but are thankful that he no longer suffers in this world.
Glenn is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Farmer; and his mother, Lois June Slagle Farmer.
In addition to his father, Charles Edward Farmer; he is survived by his step-mother, Barbara Farmer; siblings, Blenda Anderson (Jim), Carl Farmer, Mary Farmer Banks (Corbin, Jr.), Rhonda Farmer Parsons (Lester); nephews, Dwayne Banks (Pam) and Richard France (Rachel); nieces, Julie Anderson-Thacker (Michael Andrue), Tosha Banks Hall (Bodey), Julia Beth Coleman (Adam) and Melissa Parsons; great nephews and nieces, Erin, Isaac, Lee, and Clare; step-children, Stephanie Felts and Christopher Richards; step-grandchildren, Zachary Adkins, Shannon Adkins, Meagen Adkins-Mann, and Zakary Richards; and step-great grandchildren, Weston and Lorelei Adkins; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on January 17th, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers. Pastor Randall Stapleton will officiate Glenn's memorial service immediately following visitation at 6:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on January 18th, 2024 at 2 PM. Honorary Pallbearers are family and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Lighthouse Baptist Church, 655 Way Cross Road, Church Hill, Tennessee 37642.
The Farmer family would like to thank all those that have been steadfast in prayer, the Hawkins County ME office, as well as the medical staff, nurses, aids, and all others that have provided Glenn with exceptional care throughout his battle with cancer.
Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
