Charles Edward Atkins

April 7, 1949 — December 2, 2023

Jobe 1:21 Naked came I out of my mother's womb and naked shall I return thither: The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

Charles is now reunited with his beloved wife of 47 years, Donna Morse Atkins, in eternal rest. He also joins his parents, Charles Sr. and Lena Atkins, and sister, Beverly Atkins Johnson, in the embrace of the Lord.
Left behind to treasure the cherished memories of his life are three children: Brenda Stone and her husband Jim, Charles Atkins III and his wife Julie, and Doug Atkins and his wife Pam. He was a special brother to Lisa Atkins Slusher and her husband Sonny, and brother to Eric Atkins. Charles leaves a lasting legacy through several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his mother-in-law, Ilene Morse.
Charles, known for his zest for life, had a passion for travel, fishing, and the joy of reading. He enjoyed the thrill of attending races with his family, going to auctions and exploring flea markets. Charles was a loving family man who possessed a warm and welcoming personality, always eager to bring laughter to those around him. He always had a special place in his heart for dogs.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Charles's honor to the Sullivan County Animal Shelter.
A graveside service to celebrate Charles's life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday December 7th, at East Lawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Dr. Charles Sherfey officiating.
Charles Edward Atkins Jr. will forever be remembered for the love, laughter, and warmth he shared with his family and friends. May his soul find eternal peace in the arms of the Lord.

Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
