Charles Edgar "Ed" Taylor

Charles Edgar "Ed" Taylor, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2016 with his wife, Frances Taylor, by his side. Born in Hiltons, VA, he was the son of the late Joe and Hester Taylor. He attended Willoughby Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bulls Gap, TN. He was an accomplished musician who sang and played guitar with many gospel groups over the years in the area. Recently, he entertained at the Roby Adult Center in Greeneville, TN every week and the Lutheran Reformation Church Jam session each week. Ed enjoyed making music and making people laugh. He worked maintenance for many years and later drove those entering the armed services from the local area to Knoxville. It was on his route that he met his best friend and wife, Frances. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Hester Taylor; brothers, Virgil Taylor and Earl Taylor; and sister, Beulah Blizzard. His memory is left to be cherished by his wife, Frances Taylor; daughter, Robin Blaylock and fiance, Billy Blaylock; stepson, Michael Hammitt; grandsons, Michael Brewer and Samuel Brewer; brother, Perry Taylor; and sister, Ruth Cole. Calling hours will be from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Reverend Chris Franklin of Willoughby Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Reverend Rex McMurray officiating. Singers will be the McMurray Brothers. Graveside service will be at 11am on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at East Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Taylor, Jerry Taylor, Ralph Flannagan, Jordan Taylor, Michael Brewer, Samuel Brewer, and honorary pallbearer will be Michael Hammitt.
