Charles Edward Bowers

Charles "Charlie" Edward Bowers, 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 10, 2025.

Charlie was born on April 10, 1947 in Elizabethton, TN to Coy and Maggie Bowers. He was a fun-loving, kind hearted, and generous soul whose smile lit up every room. He was always joking and full of mischief. To know Charlie was to love him.

Mr. Bowers was a graduate of Unaka High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He attended Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and Horseshoe Chapel. He was employed in various states as an ironworker. Most of his spare time was spent enjoying the outdoors. He had a special love for his many beagles that he raised and trained over the years. He also spent time with Festus the donkey, renamed AppleJack by Charlie, feeding him apples and Dr. Enufs.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Maggie, three brothers, Kermit, Willard, and Eldridge Bowers all of Elizabethton. He is survived by one brother, Carroll "Bug" Bowers, three sisters, Marge Thompson, Faye Crosswhite, and Fredia Groce, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Diana Miller.

His family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Hillview Nursing Home and the third floor staff at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Bowers' wish was to be cremated.
