Carroll Eugene Mendenhall, 78, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Carroll spent most of his life in northeast Tennessee. After high school, he proudly served in the US Navy for over four years during the Vietnam War. Carroll returned to Tennessee and learned a trade as a plumber and pipeftter which he used for the rest of his life. He was also a jack of all trades and could do just about anything. Carroll was an avid hunter and fisherman and taught his sons the love of these sports as well. He was married to his wife, Jackie, for fifty-one years. He had two sons, Chris and Josh, and one daughter, Kelly.
Carroll is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; sons, Chris Housewright and Josh Mendenhall; Kelly (Jeremy) Falin; grandson, Elijah Jennings; granddaughters, Brooklyn Mendenhall and Lily Mendenhall; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice and the VA Medical staff for their compassionate and attentive care.
A graveside committal service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Veterans Way, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Attendees are asked to arrive by 1:50 PM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy and American Legion Post 3/265.
