In Loving Memory of Carolyn Sue Morelock Light
November 11, 1943 - December 30th, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carolyn Light, who departed this world on Saturday December 30th, 2023, at the age of 80, surrounded by the love of her family. Her family takes solace in her unwavering faith and her acceptance of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Carolyn is now reunited in the eternal embrace of her husband of 60 years, Bobby Light, who passed away this year, on October 25th, 2023.

Born in Kingsport, in 1943, Carolyn dedicated 25 years of her life as a judicial secretary to the honorable Roger Thayer and Judge McClellan before retiring. Her roots in the Baptist faith ran deep, as her father was a Baptist preacher, which ignited her love for Christ and active participation in the church. She selflessly served at Sullivan Baptist Church, contributing to Lottie Moon donation drives and crafting church bulletin boards. Carolyn also served as a Girls in Action leader. Among her many hobbies, she cherished her role as a seamstress and found joy in scrap booking. However, her greatest passion was traveling with her beloved husband, Bobby. The adventures they shared and the love they nurtured were truly remarkable.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Light; her parents, Jarvis Morelock and Audrey Morelock; her brother, Bob Morelock, and his wife, Jean; and her sister, Beatrice Crawford, and her husband, Eugene.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Julie Cavin and her husband, Dan, and Heather Kistner and her husband, Eric; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel Cavin, Caroline Cavin, and Cash Kistner; and her dear siblings, sister-in-law, Beverly Light and her husband, Homer, brother-in-law, Wayne Light and his wife, Brenda, sister-in-law, Bernice Darnell and her husband, Gary, and sister-in-law, Callie Light, along with several special nieces and nephews.

A visitation to celebrate Carolyn Light's life will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2023. The funeral service, led by Pastor Jeff Strong, will follow at 7 PM. A graveside committal will take place at Mausoleum Number 2 at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN. Those wishing to pay their respects are kindly requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to the service.
