*Please note a change to the shelter location: the Celebration Gathering has moved from Shelter #1 to Shelter #4
Carolyn Annette Mullins, age 76, departed this life on Monday, August 12, 2024. Her final wish was to go camping one last time and she spent her final days surrounded by family and friends at her favorite campsite. She fell into eternal sleep after enjoying time with her family, sitting by the fire, roasting marshmallows, and pointing out her favorite campers in the park.
She loved living her life and spent most of her retirement years line dancing, bowling, and going on trips with her closest friends, whom she loved dearly. Carolyn enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, watering her flowers, and camping. She was always up for an adventure. We will all miss her deeply.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Samuel Mullins; her mother and step-father, Juanita and Everett Bostic; and her father, Gene Fleenor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tina Taylor and fiance Keith Skelton; Connie McReynolds and husband Anthony Legg; son, Sammy Mullins and wife Marquita Reed; her brother, James Fleenor and wife Carolyn; her sister, Tammy Good and husband Scott; grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Taylor, Hunter, Colton, Austin, and Mahaley McReynolds; great-grandchildren, Brylie and Blade Farmer, Brooklynn Kara Duty, Axton and Airez Tribble, Ellie, Asher, Jett, and Knox McReynolds.
The family will be holding a drop-in, covered dish Celebration Gathering for family and friends on Sunday, August 18, 2024, beginning at 2 PM at Warriors Path State Park, Shelter #4, located on Duck Island. Everyone is encouraged to come out for an afternoon of great memories, stories, music, food, and a line dance or two in her honor. For additional information or if you need assistance getting to the shelter, please contact her daughters by call or text at (423) 963-0962 or (423) 341-4765.
In lieu of flowers, please consider bringing a covered dish to share for Carolyn's celebration.
