Carolyn “Beag” Dickenson Ramey, 73, of Kingsport, TN, went to Heaven on Friday, March 1st, 2019 surrounded by her family. Beag was born in Sullivan County, TN in 1946. She attended Sullivan West High School. Beag was a person who was just full of life and loved to live. She worked numerous jobs, mostly cooking and baking, where the locals knew her well especially her famous pumpkin rolls. She wanted everyone in her family to learn her recipes for Soup Beans and Cornbread, Homemade Biscuits and Gravy (the secrets to a good marriage). She didnt much care for camping at first but later it grew on her and she really enjoyed the camping trips with the family outdoors. Although she enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird feeding (she had her 5 feeders she watched every day), her real hearts desire was just being with her family. She loved her husband (and kept him in his place), her kids and grandchildren were her life. She made the house into a home with her childrens and grandchildrens photos everywhere she could put one. She made sure they were happy, healthy, and well fed before herself. She was a selfless mother and wife. She is preceded in death by her mommy and old man, Jack and Burnace Jones; husband, Lydle H. Dickenson; son, Ernie Stewart; brothers, E.G. , Jackie Lee, Robert, John Paul, and Jimmy Jones; sister, Cathy Overbay; fur babies, Daisy (Collie) and Lady (German Shepherd). She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ronnie Ramey of the home; daughters, Angela Lawson and husband Roger (Church Hill, TN), Kristi Jones and husband Bobby (Kingsport,TN); grandchildren, Alex Lawson and wife Maegan (Kingsport, TN), Zac Lawson (Church Hill, TN), Matthew Jones (Knoxville, TN), Ashley Stewart (Kingsport, TN), Josh Stewart (Kingsport, TN); great granddaughter, Arabella Lawson (Kingsport, TN); brothers, Garry Jones (Kingsport, TN), Tommy Jones (Kingsport, TN), Andy Jones and wife Evelyn (Rogersville, TN); sisters, Ruby Templeton (Kingsport, TN), Phyllis Jones (Kingsport, TN); several sisters in law, nieces, and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday March 4th from 5pm to 7pm at Trinity Memorial. A Life Celebration to celebrate her truly blessed life will follow with Reverend Rodger Castle Sr. officiating. Graveside service will take place on Tuesday March 5th in the Garden of Everlasting Life at East Lawn Cemetery at 11am. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate and loving care given to mom during this time. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Ramey family.
