Carl Wesley "Toby" Harless

Carl Wesley "Toby" Harless, 57, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and he loved his family. Toby was proud of his Navy background and served on the USS Garcia. He was full of life and was considered a jokester. He could make you smile even on your bad days. Toby is preceded in death by his father, Harry H. Harless; mother, Nellie Smith Harless; brother, Harry E. Harless; and step grandchild, Kaylie Bankston. He is survived by his wife, Rose Wright Harless; son, Bryan W. Harless; stepdaughters who he loved as his own, Cassia Hemperley and Leah Dixson; sister, Sue Linkous, Shelia Harless (Mousie), Virginia Larkins (Hopi) and Carol Harless; sister-in-law, Juli Harless; five step grandchildren; three very special nephews, Fred Larkins, Erik Winegar and Eddie Russell; furry companion, Pemsi; and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and very special friends. Military rites will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery with honors conducted by American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
