Bruce Edward Norton

Bruce Edward Norton, 73, of Kingsport, TN, went home on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023.
Bruce was born in Bowden, Georgia, in 1949. He grew up in Heflin, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Bruce worked on the Apollo space program in his early years before moving to Kingsport, TN. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company, where he worked for over 40 years. After a brief retirement, he worked for 8 years at BAE Systems.
Bruce loved woodworking and everything about machining. He spent several years working in Spain, where he enjoyed traveling. He lived for his daily walks; he loved the outdoors. Bruce loved his daughter and his grandson more than anything. Over the years, he made many lasting friendships and leaves behind many who will greatly miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Eunice Norton; grandson, Sterling Norton.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Heather and husband Carl George; grandson, Hunter Norton; step-grandson, Charles George; brother, Gordon Norton; sister, Jean and husband John Williamson; several nieces and nephews; and many amazing friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 7th, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM CST at Dryden Funeral Home(256-463-2287), 1467 Almon Street, Heflin, AL 36264. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM CST in the Dryden Chapel. Graveside services will be private.
