Bradley Scott Hartman

January 19, 1956 — July 2, 2018

Bradley (Brad) S. Hartman Brad took his final breath surrounded by love and angels in the early hours of Monday, July 2, 2018 with Marlene and Andrea at his side, in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was born in Chicago to Reynold and Ellen (nee Caldwell) Hartman and lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood as a young boy. The family moved to Calumet City, Illinois where he met and fell in love with Marlene, and then moved to Lansing, Illinois. He lived briefly in Michigan City, Griffith and Morocco, Indiana and Stow, Ohio. Brad worked for a variety of companies as a long-haul trucker for many years and an instructor for Falcon Trucking University, training semi drivers with an emphasis on safety behind the wheel. Bradley was a self-published author of eight (8) books of fiction and two (2) books of poetry. He was also featured in several poetry compilations from Poetry Society of America. Becoming published was the realization of his lifelong dream of writing. Family and friends will long remember his wit and humor, unwavering loyalty, stubbornness penchant for conspiracy theories, fascination with serial killers, and love of all things Batman/Dark Knight. Brad was an avid reader favoring books by Stephen King, Clive Cussler and writing duo Preston & Child. He loved movies but hated movie theaters, opting instead to own them first on VHS, then DVD. He leaves behind an extensive assortment of new and old favorites, thrillers, horror and animated movies. True story: when he and ex-wife Andrea were divorcing, they sat on the floor going through all the movies they had, dividing the movies between them and bartering over ones they both wanted. For many years, they could each be heard saying, "Oh, darn, I bet she/he has that DVD." A large collection of Batman/Dark Knight memorabilia and Marvin the Martian collectibles dominate Brad's office space. He enjoyed everything ‘classic,' especially movies, music and cars. His prize possession was a 1985 Pontiac Fiero which he reluctantly sold several years ago. He enjoyed watching the annual Barret-Jackson classic car auction and wanted to bid on the original Batmobile. Brad loved his family and filled the walls of his home with pictures of him and Marlene, his dad, siblings and daughter. Brad had a passion for life, exploring new places, driving the back roads, and spending time with family and friends. Due to a brief illness, Brad is no longer physically with us, but we will never forget his smile, the eye rolling, and occasional child-like behavior - like when he would walk down a store aisle at Christmas time and press all the musical stuffed animals. Brad is survived by his first true love and fianc Marlene Buzzo; brothers Rick and Bob, sister Brenda (Steven) Sich; Robert (Jessica) Buzzo; James (Kim) Bohr; daughter Jaymi Bishop. Grandchildren Victoria, Furian and Nicholas; Miri; Addisyn and Xander. Nieces and Nephews Samantha and Cindy; Beau, Stevie (Austin), Shane, Angel and Alex. He will be greatly missed by Delilah and Sara, their cats and friends Andrea, Jim and Tom. Preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Great Dane Ballou. Per his wishes, there will be no services and his body will be cremated. His ashes will be placed in a Batman urn - yes really. Please sign the guest book and share a story about Brad.
