In Loving Memory of Bobby Light
April 4, 1942 - October 25, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby Light, a loving father, devoted husband, and a man of remarkable integrity. Bobby left this world on October 25th, 2023, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of his family. His family takes comfort in his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Bobby was born in 1942, and from the very beginning, he demonstrated a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He found immense satisfaction in working with his hands, particularly in the art of restoring cars. His pride and joy was his cherished Pontiac Firebird. Whether it was tinkering with old cars or tending to his farm, fishing on the lake, or occasionally hunting, Bobby had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop, tending his fire while listening to music with his cat Ruger.
Bobby dedicated much of his life to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), where he served as a steam fitter foreman. He exemplified the values of hard work, dedication, and integrity, traits that made him an admired figure among his colleagues.
While Bobby was a man of few words, those who knew him recognized his unwavering kindness. He firmly believed that one's word and one's name were among the most valuable possessions one could have in life, and he carried both with grace and honor.
Bobby was a proud father to his two daughters, Julie and Heather. As children he shared with them his love for the water, teaching them how to water ski, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. He enjoyed watching his girls grow up and raise families of their own - how he loved his grandchildren!
Bobby was a loving husband and devoted caregiver to his wife Carolyn. He was a kindhearted soul who left an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Allie Clarence Light and Juanita Quillen Light and brother, Gary Dwight Light.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Morelock Light; daughters, Julie Cavin and husband Dan, Heather Kistner and husband Eric; grandchildren, Daniel Cavin, Caroline Cavin, and Cash Kistner; Siblings, sister Beverly Light and husband Homer; brother Wayne Light and wife Brenda, sister Bernice Darnell and husband Gary, sister-in-law Callie Light and several special nieces and nephews.
