Betty Lois Murray

December 30, 1944 — September 10, 2019

Betty Lois Murray, age 74, of Church Hill, TN passed away Tuesday September 10th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her children after a brief illness. She was an active member of the Gospel Fellowship Church in Kingsport. She was retired from Eastman Chemical Company where she worked many years. She was born to Kermit and Hazel Wilson Cress on December 30th, 1944 in Norton, VA. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Frank Murray; sister, Donna Velie; sister-in-law, Helen Cress; brother-in-law, Dean Skeen. Betty loved life and loved her family. She loved to cook and feed anyone who came by to see her. She was kind and generous, sharing her creative talents with many friends. Betty is survived by her three precious children, Dwayne Murray (Jane), Danny Ray Murray (Pam) both of Kingsport, TN, and Kathy Dykes (Troy) of Surgoinsville, TN; grandsons, Austin Murray, Hank Dykes, Cory Roberts; granddaughters, Amanda Bowlin and Chelsea Grills; sister, Wanda Skeen; brothers, Ray Cress, Johnny Kilgore (Thelma); special brother-in-law, Jeff Velie; great grandchildren, Maddie and Aadyn Roberts, Avery Bowlin, and Walker Grills; several family members and friends. Special thanks to all her caregivers and all the support from everyone at Gospel Fellowship Church, Kingsport. A Remembrance Service will be held at Gospel Fellowship Church, 722 Virgil Lane, Kingsport, Tn 37665 on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at 5:00pm. Visitation will be prior to service at 4:00pm. Services will be directed by Pastors Melburn Farmer & Micah Bissette. Music provided by Bernice Farmer, Rebecca Bissette, Amy Ramsey, and Gospel Fellowship Quartet. Any flowers to be delivered to church. Contributions to the family can be made to Trinity Memorial Centers. She was also known as Betty Warden. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
