Betty Ann East

Betty Ann East, 68, of Mount Carmel, TN, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023.

Betty was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee and lived here her whole life. She was a caretaker, babysitting many children. She was a member of Bethel Apostolic Church, where she took care of the children during services. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, expecting two additions at the beginning of the year.

She is preceded by her daughters, Angela Barrett and Elizabeth Greene; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Barnett; her father, Hugh Andrew Hutchins; her sister, Linda Ferguson; her stepbrother, Lee Depew; her niece and nephew, Tammy Dixon and Billy Dixon.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Michael East; her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Amyx (Jeremy Neeley); her sons, Michael William East and Dustin Wayne East (Samantha East); her bonus children, James East, John David East, and Travis Hutchins; her grandchildren, Kensley, Chesnye, and Kyleiah, Ethan, Chloe, Donovan, Khadian, Blayze, Dakota, and Natashia; her brothers, Leroy Hutchins and David Hutchins; step brother, Tommy Watts; countless nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and friends. A special mention of her favorite dog, Maddie.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people that helped care for Betty, Sarah, Debbie, Erika, Tiara, and several that can't be named specifically, but are appreciated all the same.

The family will be celebrating Betty's life and the many lives she's touched on Thursday, October the 5th, 2023. Visitation will be at Evangel Family Worship Center on Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport, from 5 pm until 7 pm with services to follow. Services will be presided over by Pastor Chris Carroll and music will be provided by Randall Compton.
