Barbara Jordan Watkins

Barbara Jordan Watkins, born on June 29, 1937, passed away on December 14, 2024. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her quick wit and feisty spirit. She was sometimes generous to a fault, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

Barbara's many interests were as vast as her caring heart. She loved teaching, inspiring her elementary school students with her enthusiasm, toughness, and love of learning. Barbara was an avid gardener, with a green thumb, inherited from her mother and father. She and her "sweetheart", Dale, loved traveling together, wherever life took them. They were both Tennessee Vols fans for life. Books and reading, music and singing, and church and faith sustained her through life's joy and sorrow. 

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sherry Cornett, her "favorite" grandson, Jordan (Abby) Weaver, her "favorite" granddaughter, Jessica Watkins (Kevin) McDavid, and her great-grandsons, Ian (Maycee), Conner, and Colin McDavid. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randall Dale Watkins, Sr., her son, Randy Watkins, and daughter, Cris Watkins. She will be missed always and remembered for her enduring love, but is rejoicing now with Jesus, her Savior.
