Barbara Ann Akard

Barbara Ann Akard, 70, of Kingsport, TN, passed away in her sleep on Monday, November 26, 2018. Barbara was a lifelong resident of this area and she loved gardening, crafts and helping others. She never met a stranger and she brought laughter to everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Akard (January 2018); son, Mark Akard; and sister, Ruby Ashbrook. She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Amyx; granddaughter, Jessica Yates; sisters, Peggy Fink and husband, Tony, Dorothy Jackson and husband, Eddie, Brenda Huffman and husband, Roy, and Jane Mullins and husband, Kevin; brothers, Steve Hutchins and wife, Rhonda, and Fred Hutchins and Ron Hutchins (all of Kingsport, TN); and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Trinity Memorial Centers (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660).
