Atticus Edwin Suttle

Atticus Edwin Suttle, 80, of Bristol, VA, went to be with his Lord Jesus on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 while surrounded by his loved ones.

Ed, or Mr. Ed as many friends affectionately called him, was born in Shelby, NC and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a graduate of NC State University with a degree in Textile Chemistry. He was a very devoted family man, faithfully serving Jesus Christ and living his faith. Mr. Ed was known as a kind, steady and reliable man and was well loved by all who knew him well. Ed raised his family in Marion, NC where he worked as a Textile Chemist. He and his wife Karen have lived in Bristol, VA for the past 20 years after living briefly in Boiling Springs, NC and Honduras, Central America.

Ed was preceded by his parents, A.C. and Martha Suttle; his sister, Ella Weathers and her husband, Gene Weathers; his brother, John Suttle; and his granddaughter, Mary Grace Ragan. He is survived by Karen Suttle, his wife of 56 years; his daughters, Gina Ragan and Peggy Hiwale; sons-in-law, Aaron Ragan and Joe Hiwale; his grandchildren, David Ragan and wife, Katie, Abigail Ragan and fiance', Maverick Simerly, Tikvah Ragan, Isaac Ragan, Reuben Ragan and Toby Hiwale; his great-grandchildren: Wyatt Ragan and Garrett Ragan; his sister-in-law: Diana Stout; his nieces, Foy Ford and husband, Joe, Pam Ristaino and husband, Dominick, Kelly Bowers and husband, Curtis; and his nephew, Elliott Suttle.

The receiving of family and friends will be at Woodland Hills Christian Church, located at 16173 Elementary Drive, Abingdon, VA on Friday, February, 21st, 2025, from 4:00-5:30pm with the memorial service immediately following.
