Anthony “Tony” Woodrow Christian, 67, of Church Hill, TN, passed away on Friday, February 8th, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer and COPD. Tony was a devoted follower of Christ and a teacher of the Word.
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Allie and Hazel Christian; nephew, Wesley Christian; mother-in-law, Vivian Amburgey.
Tony was proud to have served his country in the Airforce and then 13 years in the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Christian; sister, Shirley Christian Bice and husband Cliff; sons, Anthony Christian (Canton, GA), Logan Thurman and partner Josh Whitaker (Bristol, TN); daughters, Mary- Anne Smith and husband Jon, Angela Thurman; furry companion, Freddie; special cousins, Twalla and Danny Blalock; grandchildren, Eliana and Destiny Baker, Lenora and Jaylon Smith, and Dylan Christian; great grandchild, Xander Baker; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Rites provided by American Legion Hammond Post 3/265 will be held on February 14th at 10:00 am.
Gathering of Remembrance for family and friends will be held on Thursday February 14th from 5pm to 8pm at Trinity’s Downtown Life Celebration Center ( Model City Event Center, 201 E Center Street, Kingsport). Come casual and share with us in the stories and memories of our Tony.
