Angela Joan Brown, 65, went to eternal peace on Saturday (August 30) at her residence after an extended illness. Angela Joan Brown was born on December 12, 1948, the daughter of Dorothy Overbay and James Clifton Buchanan. She married Carl Naaman Brown on May 7, 1970. She was educated at St Dominicks Catholic School and at Washington College Academy. She was known to go out of her way to help people. She ran her own business, Quality Business Services, for years until health issues forced her to stop in early 2008. She was a loving mother, a friend to many, and in her last years, the daily companion of her husband. Toward the end, she told her daughter she was dreaming of happy memories. Her son remembers her hearty laugh. Her sister and cousins cherish their good times together. She will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Buchanan and Dorothy Bach. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Carl Naaman Brown; sister, Portia Salyer; three children, Stephanie Mechelle Norris, James Clifton Owens, and Bradley Naaman Brown; grandson, Jeffery Lee Chapman; great-grandson, Landon Chapman; niece, Sarah Absher, and family; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sherrod; brother-in-law, Terry Scott Brown; and sister-in-law, Karla Brown. A celebration of life will be held at 301 Hidden Acres Road Rock Springs, Kingsport at 6 p.m on Thursday (September 4).
