Alfred Ray Hopkins

Alfred Ray Hopkins, 62, of Johnson City, TN, went home to Heaven to be with his Savior on Monday, September 16, 2019. Alfred was born in 1956 in Kingsport, TN. He was a graduate of Lynn View High School. After high school, he attended ETSU for three years and then entered the Air Force. He was deployed overseas several times and had received numerous awards for his conduct and service. Alfred enjoyed serving his country and he retired after 20 years of honorable service. He enjoyed researching science and math and after retiring from the Air Force, he went back and finished his Bachelor Degree from ETSU. He was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nessie Hopkins. He is survived by his double first cousins, Carolyn Roberts (Kingsport, TN) and Zelma Coffman (Waynesville, OH); and numerous other cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Trinity Assembly of God (617 University Pkwy, Johnson City, TN). The funeral will follow with Pastor Ken Jefferies officiating. Military graveside will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 1:45 PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
