Albert Ray Sutphin

Albert Ray Sutphin, 71, of Mount Carmel, TN went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was a veteran of the US Navy and he fought in the Vietnam War. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church when he was able to. Mr. Sutphin is preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Womack; son, Jimmy Dockery; and parents, Roy W. and Edna G. Sutphin. He is survived by the love of his life, Joretta D. McElroy Sutphin; daughter, Sherri Lynn Sutphin Mitchell and husband, Chris; son, Albert Ray Sutphin, II of Statesville, NC; brother, Lee Sutphin and wife, Pat, of Tryon, NC; sister, Joyce Sutphin of Marion, NC; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Military Honors will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Johnson City, TN) with Chaplain Jeff Hammer, Pastor John Hart and Rick Messer officiating.
