Phyllis Price

Phyllis Wilson Price, 72, of Bristol, TN finished her earthly journey on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, after a lengthy battle with dementia disease. We have grieved the person she was and have said the Long Goodbye and we know we will see her again someday.

She was born on April 20th, 1950, to the late Raymond and Christine Wilson of Bristol, Va. Phyllis was a 1968 graduate of John S. Battle High School. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James Price; a brother, Ricky Wilson.

Her survivors include her two step-children, Justin Price, Bluff City, Tn and Melanie (Dave) Hatcher and their three children, Janie, David and Annalee of Brentwood, Tn; brother, Raymond L. (Amy) Wilson, Bristol, Va; sisters, Linda Wilson, Bristol, Tn; Barbara Fields, Bristol, Tn; and Bonnie (Tommy) Frazier, Bristol, Va; Also surviving “Aunt PB” are her nieces and nephews that she dearly loved, Lisa Childress and Destinee; Kristi (Chad) Gose and Kinsey (Austin) Reed, Hunter, Paisley, Cooper, and Lyndee; Mandy (John) Yokim and Josephine and Oliver; Karen (Allen) Lingerfelt and Gracie, Sydni and Rhylin; Jarrod (Carrie) and Olive; Sara (Frank) Meyers and Frank, Iris, and Lennox; Natalie Wilson; Kelsey (Josh) Locklear; and Cody (Alyssa) Wilson.

Phyllis was a production engineer at Carolyn Mfg, Bristol, Tn for several years. Following the company’s closing, Phyllis returned to school and received her LPN. She was then employed at YouthCare Pediatrics (Dr. Tom Mitoraj) for several years. Phyllis also worked for Twin City Medical and Dawn of Hope before her retirement.

Phyllis was loved by everyone who had the privilege to know her. She was a compassionate, kind, fun-loving individual. She was known for her remarkable fondness for babies and small children.

The family would like to thank Dominion Senior Living for the love, kindness, and care that was shown to her for almost 4 1/2 years. The “sisters” developed many lasting friendships with several staff members as well as other family members of the residents. We would like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice (especially Kelly, Becky, and Ben) for everything they did for Phyllis and the love and kindness that was shown to her.

Trinity Memorial, Kingsport, Tn is serving the family of Phyllis Price. There will be no services. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
