Otis Galloway Jr.

October 09, 1936 - April 21, 2022

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Otis Galloway Jr. passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, surrounded by his family. He gained his Heavenly wings and joined his wife, Velma.

Otis was a delightful person who always had a smile and brought joy to the room. He always treated everyone equally and was a great role model for others to do the same. Otis was a hard worker and spent many years at General Shale as a brick stacker. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with them. Otis loved watching westerns on tv and listening to gospel music. In his downtime, Otis enjoyed sitting on his porch with his best fur friend, Baby. Otis and Baby would admire the beauty of a rose bush planted to remember his late wife, Velma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Lene Blakley Galloway; son, Roger Galloway; parents, Otis Dock Galloway Sr. and Nora Kleinieck Galloway; grandson, Jeremiah “Jerry” Walters; brothers, Lewis Galloway, Jerry Galloway, and Ed Galloway.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Tammy (Kevin) Lawson; foster daughter, Susan (Milford) Powers; sons, Thomas Galloway and Mike (Beth) Galloway; grandchildren, Jonathan (Loryn) Walters, Justin (Kathy) Walters, Matt (Emily) Lawson, Ricky (Codi) Crawford, Abby Lawson, Summer Burk, Brittany (Clifford) Thacker, Amanda (Justin) Galloway, Tyler Galloway, Kayla (Tyler) Henry, Kristian (Matt) Powers, and Anthony Powers; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Debbie (Gary) Starnes, Lou Ida Edens, and Louise “Tooty” Cress; several nieces and nephews; he also leaves behind a special brother-in-law Enos Blakley he was like a brother to Otis; his best fur friend Baby

Visitation will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers on Monday, April 25th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will follow. Graveside service will occur at East Lawn Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, 26th at 2:00.
