Bristol, VA. Margaret Ann Tweed, age 70, passed away on May 8, 2018 at Wellmont Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Bonnie Chapman.
She was born on October 3, 1947 in Glade Spring, VA. She attended Patrick Henry High School and was a graduate of Marion Senior High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Music from Emory & Henry College. She taught Spanish at Holston High School in Damascus, VA until her retirement. She had a life-long passion for education and the Spanish language. She was loved by the many students who studied the language and culture of Spanish speaking countries in her classroom.
She is survived by her son Jim Woodrum of Cambridge, MA; her life-long soul mate James Woodrum of Bristol, VA; one sister Mary Jane Woodward of Clemmons, NC; two brothers Ronald Chapman and Carl Chapman both of Abingdon, VA; as well as two nieces and three nephews.
Her funeral will be Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Bristol, VA. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church in her name.
