Lester “Mokey” Norton, 68 of Surgoinsville,TN was born September 17, 1951 and went to his heavenly home free of cancer on October 26,2019. Mokey loved to hunt, fish and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved the Lord and his family with all of his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Okie Norton; brother, Ernest Norton; and sisters, Velma Smith and Edith King.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Daniel (Brittney) and Dustin (Cortney) Norton; daughters, Tammy (Robert) Adams and Susan (Teddy) Avery; grandchildren, Daniel, Lauren, Alice, and Rowan Norton, Josh Adams, Zachary and Jeremiah Ball, and TJ Avery; brothers, Edmond (Mona) and Edward (Mary) Norton; sisters, Jewel (Carl) Grigsby and Pearl Bridwell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home,Kingsport, TN on November 1, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm with Carl Grigsby officiating. The burial will be held on November 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Norton Cemetery, Surgoinsville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daniel for the family cemetery.
